Fellowship Square Historic Mesa is part of the Christian Care family, a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1979. Their mission was straightforward: to provide Arizona seniors with affordable, compassionate care.

What began with the opening of the Christian Care Health Center in 1980 has grown into a network of six retirement communities in Arizona, including our location here in Historic Mesa, which opened in 2004.

Non-Profit Mission, Personal Approach

As a nonprofit, our priority is to enhance residents’ quality of life — not maximize profits. Instead of answering to shareholders, we reinvest directly into our community, enabling us to enhance programs, services, amenities, and the overall resident experience.

The result is a community that feels intentional, well cared for, and genuinely centered on quality of life.

Faith at Our Foundation, Community at Our Heart

Faith is part of who we are, and everyone is welcome here. Our values guide us to serve with compassion, dignity, and respect for every individual, while honoring each individual’s background, beliefs, and life story.

To hear directly from the people who know us best, we invite you to explore our Testimonials and learn what residents have to say about life at Fellowship Square Historic Mesa.

Senior Living Options
& Levels of Care

Independent Living is for seniors who want freedom, flexibility, and a social lifestyle without the burdens of homeownership, such as maintenance, housekeeping, and cooking.

Assisted Living is ideal for individuals who require additional support in their day-to-day lives but do not need 24-hour skilled nursing care. Assisted Living services provide increased assistance with activities of daily living and a higher level of care than what is available in independent living.

We offer a full continuum of senior living care to meet a variety of needs.

These include independent living, assisted living, and a secure memory care neighborhood. Each level of care is tailored to help residents thrive while honoring their independence.

Please click the links below for more information on our senior living options, including pricing, floor plans, amenities, and services for each.

Life at Fellowship Square

Absolutely, we are a pet-friendly retirement community!

We understand the importance of furry (or feathered) companions, so we have established a few community guidelines to support safe and happy pet ownership.

In Independent Living:

  • One pet per apartment
  • Dogs or cats must be 30 lbs or less (Service animals are exempt)
  • Must be spayed or neutered and housebroken
  • Must be vaccinated and licensed in accordance with City of Mesa requirements.
  • Birds are also allowed, but they must be caged or have their wings clipped.

Assisted Living:

Pets are welcome under the same guidelines, with the expectation that residents can comfortably manage their pet’s daily care.

Unfortunately, pets are not permitted in our Memory Care neighborhood. However, leashed visitors are always welcome!

If you’re unsure whether your pet would be a good fit, our team is happy to discuss your situation and help you explore your options.

Our residents enjoy delicious, chef-prepared meals daily. We offer a variety of menu options and can accommodate a range of dietary needs, including those for individuals with diabetes and those following a heart-healthy diet. Our Dining Services Director/Executive Chef is dedicated to creating a healthy, natural, and delicious menu with something for everyone to enjoy.

In Independent Living, each resident receives $225 in dining dollars each month, which typically covers about 25 meals. With affordable breakfast choices and grab-and-go items available every day, you have flexibility and plenty of ways to make your dining dollars work for you.

In Assisted Living and Memory Care, monthly rent includes three meals per day plus two snacks. Both feature their own dining room, and guests are always welcome to join them for a meal.

Absolutely! This is your home, and we encourage you to bring your favorite furniture, artwork, and personal touches to make your apartment uniquely yours.

We offer print-friendly floor plans that are ready to download, allowing you to sketch out your layout and start planning ahead of move-in day.

Don't have a printer? That's okay! We can provide you with hard copies during your tour or mail them to you as well.

Not at all. Your time is your own, and how you spend it is completely up to you.

We offer a full calendar of events - from fitness classes and social outings to creative clubs, music nights, and spiritual support activities. Participation is always optional; you choose what feels right for you. We’re here to support your independence, not schedule your day.

Visitors are always welcome at Fellowship Square Historic Mesa, and we encourage friends and family to stay connected and involved. There are no set visiting hours for Independent Living.

For Assisted Living and Memory Care, families do not need permission to visit. However, a heads-up is helpful when possible (but not necessary), simply so our team can ensure your loved one is comfortable, prepared, and ready to enjoy the visit. Our goal is always to support meaningful time together.
