Hello, my name is Dan Brookey and I have the distinct pleasure of serving our residents at Fellowship Square-Mesa spiritually, emotionally, and at times relationally. As the Chaplain and Resident Life Coordinator I lead and coordinate Bible studies, Sunday Services, and special holiday services and meet one-on-one with limited pastoral counseling. I also visit residents in the hospital and rehab. Furthermore, I have the honor of helping residents and family members during end of life.
I have been married to Melanie, my High School sweetheart, for over 40 years. We have one grown son who is married and expecting their first child, our first grandchild, in May 2017. I was born in Dayton, Ohio and lived in a small rural community. My maternal grandparents lived with us for ten years while I was growing up. My grandfather was totally blind and needed extra care while my grandmother worked. It was at this time that God put the senior community into my heart.
I did work as a Mechanical Design Engineer for 35 years until God called me into ministry. In 2004 I received a Master of Arts degree in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. In 2012 I transitioned from full time ministry as Pastoral Care Minister at a local church to Chaplain and Resident Life Coordinator at Fellowship Square-Mesa. I appreciate Fellowship Square’s mission and enjoy being with the residents on a daily basis.
