BSBA, MA Theology
Hello, my name is Dan Brookey and I have the distinct pleasure of serving our residents at Fellowship Square Surprise spiritually, emotionally, and at times relationally. As the Chaplain I lead and coordinate Bible studies, Sunday Services, and special holiday services and meet one-on-one with limited pastoral counseling. I also visit residents in the hospital and rehab. Furthermore, I have the honor of helping residents and family members during end of life.
I have been married to Melanie, my High School sweetheart, for over 40 years. We have one grown son who is married and one grandchild. I was born in Dayton, Ohio and lived in a small rural community. My maternal grandparents lived with us for ten years while I was growing up. My grandfather was totally blind and needed extra care while my grandmother worked. It was at this time that God put the senior community into my heart.
I did work as a Mechanical Design Engineer for 35 years until God called me into ministry. In 2004 I received a Master of Arts degree in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. In 2012 I transitioned from full time ministry as Pastoral Care Minister at a local church to Chaplain and Resident Life Coordinator at Fellowship Square-Mesa. I appreciate Fellowship Square’s mission and enjoy being with the residents on a daily basis.
