Fellowship Square Surprise is part of the Christian Care family of senior living communities.
Christian Care was founded in 1979 by a group of Christians who saw a need for affordable nursing care for seniors in Arizona. Realizing this need, they formed a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and named it Christian Care.
Christian Care Health Center was the first to open its doors in 1980. Today, Christian Care Companies operates six retirement communities across Arizona. And while each community differs slightly in the level of care and services they offer, they are all guided by the same mission:
"Through Christian love and excellence, we are dedicated to providing a fulfilling lifestyle and promoting independence to those we serve."
Where purpose meets community - a nonprofit, faith-based community that feels like home.
At Fellowship Square Surprise, we believe our nonprofit status and faith-based roots are two of the most meaningful things that set us apart. As a nonprofit, we reinvest every dollar back into our community, not shareholders, which means better services, more personalized support, and a genuine commitment to doing what’s right for our residents.
Our faith-based foundation drives a culture of compassion, respect, and purpose, and it shows in the warm, supportive environment we’ve created. The Christian Care culture feels different — inclusive, welcoming, and family-like — because it’s built on the mission, vision, and values that have guided us for decades.

Senior Living Options
& Levels of Care
Fellowship Square Surprise offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care—all within one gated community.
As a nonprofit organization, our mission is to serve seniors with compassion and integrity. Whether you're looking to enjoy a maintenance-free lifestyle or need support with daily care, we offer a full range of senior living options to meet your needs and support your independence.
Determining the best level of care for your or your loved one depends on factors such as health status, level of independence, and specific needs for daily assistance (if applicable).
Assisted Living is ideal for seniors who need extra support with their daily living activities but do not require 24-hour skilled nursing care. Residents receive increased assistance in their day-to-day lives and a higher level of care than what is available in Independent Living.
At The Oasis Assisted Living, we provide three levels of Assisted Living services: Essential, Enhanced, and Elite. Our Memory Care neighborhood, Reflections, is a secure unit within The Oasis building.
Costs of Senior Living
Monthly rates for Independent Living start at $3,775 and go up from there, depending on the apartment size and location you choose. To view a complete list of apartment floor plans, prices, and what's included in your monthly rent, please follow the link below.
Assisted Living and Memory Care rates can vary based on your individual needs, so we recommend starting with the pages below. They’ll walk you through what’s included and help you better understand what to expect.
Yes, rental rates increase every January 1st.
Our Board of Directors and Organizational Leadership consider many factors when making this decision, including overhead expenses, capital expenditures, government mandates, market conditions, and affordability. They are fully committed to our organization's Mission, Vision, and Values – all three of which play a role in their analysis.
We do our best to keep pricing simple and transparent, but there are a few additional costs to keep in mind.

Life at Fellowship Square
Yes, we are a pet-friendly retirement community!
In Independent Living, we allow one pet per apartment (50 pounds or less), and a refundable pet fee will apply. Residents must provide pet vaccination and registration information, which must be kept with their residency file.
Can I bring my pet to Assisted Living?
While pets aren’t allowed to live in our Assisted Living apartments, we love visits from furry family members! Four-legged guests are always welcome, as long as they're on a leash and we have their vaccination records on file with our Assisted Living Manager.
While we understand the short-term appeal leases can have, we do not offer them.
We have been told we are “the friendliest community around!” We believe that long-term leases are one of the many factors that help create a strong sense of community. We provide countless opportunities to connect and build lasting friendships through fun and meaningful activities and events. Not the least of which is the magic that happens around the dinner table when you break bread with friends, old and new.
At Fellowship Square Surprise, great food is part of everyday life.
Residents enjoy delicious, chef-prepared meals daily, with menus that offer plenty of variety and options for many dietary needs, including diabetic and heart-healthy choices. Our Executive Chef and Dining Services team are dedicated to serving up meals that are healthy, natural, and full of flavor.
In Independent Living, your monthly rent includes a flexible dining plan with $375 dining dollars per person, per month. Whether grabbing a casual bite at the Garden Café or enjoying restaurant-style service in our Main Dining Room, your dining dollars can be used wherever you choose. A complimentary Continental Breakfast is served Monday through Saturday, and a full breakfast buffet is served on Sundays.
Assisted Living and Memory Care each have their own dining rooms, where residents enjoy the same delicious, chef-prepared meals as those in Independent Living. Monthly rent includes three daily meals plus two snacks. Residents are also welcome to visit the Garden Café with friends or family—just be sure to check in with staff beforehand so we can help coordinate the visit.
At Fellowship Square Surprise, there's always something happening! From fitness classes and art groups to live music, spiritual services, movie nights, and outings around town, our Resident Experience & Activities Team keeps the calendar full of ways to connect, stay active, and have fun.
We’re also rolling out a new holistic wellness-focused program to support a healthy, active, and engaged lifestyle—stay tuned!
