Independent Living FAQs
Do your apartments come furnished?
No, they are unfurnished so you can bring your cherished belongings and furniture. Our team will help hang TVs, artwork, and décor at no extra cost.
What if I want to cook my meals?
You’re welcome to! Each apartment features a fully equipped kitchen with a flat-top stove, dishwasher, and microwave. Residents receive 25 meals per month in our dining room, with options to add more or enjoy takeout/delivery for convenience.
What are your meals like?
- Daily breakfast specials and multiple morning choices
- Four entrée options for lunch and dinner
- Resident-run food council for menu feedback
- Special diets accommodated

Can I bring guests to the dining room?
Absolutely! Friends and family are welcome to join you for meals. Guest meals are available at a nominal cost and are especially popular during holidays and special occasions.
What types of activities do you have?
Our community is resident-driven. Current favorites include:
- Tai Chi and water aerobics
- Art Club and Bible Study
- Bridge groups and social outings
Residents also enjoy personal hobbies with new friends.
What types of fitness programs do you offer?
We have a fitness program specialist on staff. With physician clearance, residents can receive 1:1 training focused on balance, strength, and endurance—at no additional cost.
Are there volunteer opportunities?
Yes! From helping in our resident-run library or store, assisting with chapel services, or tending gardens, we encourage every resident to find purpose through volunteerism.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, we are pet-friendly! You may have a pet under 30 lbs. A pet deposit is required. We offer dog-walking services for a small fee and have designated pet-walking areas.
Can I bring my car?
Yes. We offer:
- Assigned covered/uncovered parking (for a small monthly fee)
- Free general parking
- On-site transportation to appointments and shopping
We also offer free rides to doctors within 8 miles and special outings.
Do you provide housekeeping?
Yes, housekeeping is included twice per month for Independent Living residents.
Do you sign a lease?
Yes, we use one-year leases for Independent Living, ensuring stability and peace of mind.
What if my or my parents' needs increase over time?
We provide a continuum of care, allowing you or your loved one to remain within our community as care needs grow. We also offer supportive services for a fee in Independent Living before transitioning to Assisted Living or Memory Care if needed.
Can I continue to see my doctor?
Yes. Residents may continue with their current providers. We also offer referrals to mobile doctors, dentists, hospice agencies, and other specialists who serve our campus.
When can I move in?
Once you choose to join our community, our Marketing Associate will guide you through selecting the right apartment and making a smooth, comfortable transition.
