COVID-19 Updates

With the wide range of continuing care retirement communities across Arizona, we are often asked, “How are you different?”

The answer comes easy: At Fellowship Square, our Christian, non-profit structure attracts kind, service-oriented people – both staff as well as residents.  It is evident in the outstanding and caring service our staff provides and the wonderful, supportive friendships that our residents form with each other.

During the pandemic, this point of difference is shining more brightly than ever before.  Our staff are going above and beyond in every way to protect the safety and happiness of our residents while providing peace of mind for their families.

We are here for you and your loved ones – every single day – not just during a crisis. Our staff are not first responders, they are “every day responders” and all heroes.

April 7 Update:

The good news is that at this time, we have ZERO confirmed cases of Covid-19 in our Independent & Assisted Living communities as well as Memory Care. That being said, with the spread of the virus predicted to be near it's peak, we want you to know that we have specific protocol in place should we become aware of illness of a resident or staff member. These procedures will help ensure safety of staff and residents while continuing to provide good care.

March 31 Update:

We've seen numerous changes over the past few days/weeks in our continuing mission to protect our resident's health and welfare.  Information changes frequently and our team will continue to keep you informed as best we can.

Best Practices:

  • Stay home if you are sick and request your visitors do the same if they have respiratory infection symptoms including: fever, dry cough and/or shortness of breath.
  • WASH YOUR HANDS, don’t touch your face, cough in a tissue and dispose of it.
  • Drink water – there is no shortage in the faucet!
  • Replace handshakes and hugs with fist bumps and elbow taps – our staff can demonstrate.
  • If you leave our community to stay with family, PLEASE notify the front desk so we are not using valuable staff resources to locate you.
  • As of this update, we are not aware of any residents or staff in our community who are infected. If you see someone wearing a face mask, please don't assume they are sick; they may simply be using it as a means of protection.

MARCH 15TH IS A NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER.

Please pray for our leaders, our health care workers and all citizens affected, especially our vulnerable and precious seniors.

March 12 Update:

In response to Governor Ducey’s declaration of a public health emergency and executive order of March 11th pertaining to COVID-19 (aka novel corona virus), Fellowship Square Historic Mesa has taken numerous steps to proactively help protect our senior living residents from the virus.

  • We have reeducated staff on our infection control procedures. We have also reminded staff to cover coughs, wash their hands and not to touch their face. We have strongly reinforced with staff members to stay home if they are sick.
  • We have stepped up the cleaning frequency in all of our common areas.
  • We have cancelled our March 20th prospective resident event which would have brought in a large number visitors.
